The SMOK AL85 Kit with TFV8 Baby Tank is a compact 85W device that features Smok's latest and greatest Temperature Control Technology, single 18650 functionality and beautiful design elements that were inspired by the critically acclaimed 220W Alien platform. This compact, pocket-friendly device is constructed out of Aluminium-Zinc Alloy and stands at only 71mm tall and 48mm wide, offering a sturdy and portable form factor while maintaining the same ergonomic satisfaction as its predecessor. Adding to the Smok AL85 Kit unique look is the all new top-loading threaded battery compartment that allows for ease of access to the single 18650 battery bay with just a few simple twists of the top cap.

Similar to other devices in Smoktech's arsenal, the AL85 features an incredibly responsive firing bar that's constructed directly into the side of the device, providing a comfortable firing mechanism that can be easily pressed no matter how the device is being held. Despite its small size, the AL85 features a large OLED display that brightly displays the current wattage, temperature, battery power, puff counted and vape mode. The AL85 Kit wouldn't be complete without one of Smok's most powerful atomizers, which is why Smok chose the powerful TFV8 Baby Beast to stand tall on top of it. Aside from it's fitting size, the Baby Beast is a high powered sub-ohm tank that's constructed out of Stainless Steel and Pyrex Glass, featuring a large 3mL fill capacity and a feat-resistant Derlin drip tip for those hotter vapes. This beast of a tank comes with three replacement coils that range from 30-80W and can handle wattage's all the way up to 50-100W, offering three unique pre-built coils that cater to virtually unlimited vaping styles.

Looking on the front of the box, you can see the beautiful TFV8 Baby Beast and Alien Baby combination, and on the back of the box you’ll find the entire kit contents as well as the scratch off authenticity code. Going into the box, we’re immediately greeted with some silica gel and the AL85 device. After pulling out the insert, you’ll find the battery safety caution card, a war-ranty card, the AL85 Kit instruction manual, some spare o-rings and an extra gasket, the Micro USB charge cable, a Smok vape band, a 0.6 ohm replacement kanthal coil head, and the TFV8 Baby Beast.

The SMOK AL85 Kit with TFV8 Baby Tank is an incredibly compact 85W Temperature Control device that’s constructed out of a Zinc Alloy, measuring an impressive 71mm tall, 48mm long, and 27mm wide. When com-pared to the almost completely identical in construction iStick Pico, the AL85 is half of a millimeter shorter, although 4mm wider. This 4mm increase in size may seem like a downside, however, Smok intentionally made the AL85 wider in order to support larger atomizers up to 25mm in diameter. Having said that, the AL85 will work wondrously for those larger tanks, whereas the Pico will inevitably fall short. When compared to its 220W big brother, it’s no surprise that the AL85 is significantly smaller than the original Alien.

On top of the device, AL85 features a Stainless threaded 510 connection that houses a spring loaded contact pin. This is also where you’ll find the threaded top battery-slot for a single 18650 battery. On the side we’ve got Smok’s extra-clicky and responsive firing bar, as well as the conveniently located Micro USB port for charging and firmware upgrades. On the back of the mod is a nifty carbon fiber design that features Smok’s AL85 branding, and the front of the device features a large OLED screen display and a single button that serves as your plus and minus regulatory buttons.

With the device powered on, the large OLED screen displays the current wattage, draw strength, battery life indicator, voltage, resistance, amperage, vape mode, board temperature, puff coun-ter and vape duration counter. Three clicks of the fire bar takes you into the main menu- here you can enable temperature control mode, access your puff counter, alter the OLED display brightness and sleep timer or power the device off.

The TFV8 Baby Beast is a powerful sub-ohm tank that’s constructed out of Stainless Steel and Pyrex glass, standing at 53mm tall and 22mm wide. This 3mL tank uses Smok’s notorious top-fill swivel cap for fast and painless filling, and features a removable heat-resistant 510 Delrin drip tip. At the base of the tank is a free-spinning dual adjustable air-flow ring with two 13x2mm air-slots and a threaded 510 connection. Pre-installed inside the Baby Beast is an impressive 0.4 ohm V8-Q2 coil head that’s rated at 40-80 watts, with a suggested best use between 55-65 watts. The V8-Q2 atomizer head features a dual vertical kanthal coil configuration, wicked with pure organic cotton and constructed with four large wicking ports for fast, rapid-paced wicking.
